Unique Las Vegas Bars to Visit

There are plenty of Las Vegas bars to visit during a trip to Las Vegas, but there are several that require a little bit more research to know where they are located, how to get in, as well as pre-planning your visit to secure a reservation ahead of time. Here is my list of Las Vegas bars to check out that require a little bit of knowledge beforehand before visiting.

I Love Sugar Candy Martini Bar: Just as the name implies, this is a martini bar for candy lovers. It is located upstairs from I Love Candy store located in the LINQ Promenade. Depending on the time of day, you can secure a walk-in table, but reservations are highly recommended.

Foundation Room by House of Blues: Located on the the 62nd floor of Mandalay Bay is a rooftop bar with fantastic views of the Las Vegas strip. One half of the establishment is a high end restaurant and the other half is a bar with small plates. You can make dining reservations online.

Ghost Donkey: On the second level of the Cosmopolitan down a short hall behind the food court, is a door with an image of a donkey on it. Behind that door is a small mezcal speakeasy. Emphasis on the small. This space has a maximum capacity of 27 people, but that is not controlled and can be very cramped. It was difficult for me to enjoy myself because there was nowhere to sit to actually enjoy my drink. I will visit again someday, but I’ll make it a point to be lined up to visit right when they open or in the middle of the week hoping for less crowds.

1923 Prohibition Bar: Up the escalators at Mandalay Bay right next to the Ice Bar, there will be a speakeasy type door, but it is very obvious by design. The vibe of the place is exactly what you would expect from a real life 1920s speakeasy. They have events in the evenings, but if you are wanting to visit just for a drink, I recommend going during the day for a less cramped ambiance.

Liftoff Bar and Ride: Outside of Area 15 is the Liftoff Bar and Ride where you’ll enjoy 360 degree views of Las Vegas from 130 feet above ground. You’ll get your drink from the Liftoff Bar and this can be purchased there or pre-purchased with the ticket online; but I recommend just purchasing there. Their system on retrieving your ticket from the person working the ride to then give to the bartender isn’t efficient and is a literal waste of your time. Once buckled in and secured, you will be given a lanyard to secure your phone to your person. All other personal belongings need to be place inside the lockers at the base of the ride. The ride and experience is short, but it is certainly worth it at least once. The person controlling the ride can take pictures of you and your group with your phone, but be sure to wait until your back is against the strip so the background of your photo is of the strip. It wasn’t until afterwards that I realized we took our photo while looking at the strip and the background is of darkness and not what is shown here.
